Dr. Armando Román has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, currently working as Director of Mechatronics at the ITESM Campus Guadalajara. He is an advisor to the Canadian company Presglas, a manufacturer of auto parts in its operations in Mexico. He has published articles in international magazines, and has been a speaker in various forums in North and South America.
He is a member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico (CONACYT). He has participated as an advisor in the INTEL Cup (in Shanghai), Smart Car Race (Freescale), in the Baja SAE, Electraton, SAE Aerodesign and First competition. He has experience in the design and improvement of machinery for the metal-mechanic and furniture industry.
He worked on the development of a wheelchair controlled by means of brain signals and on the design of a vehicle with a hydrogen propulsion system.
