A method to create sockets -join between prosthesis and stump- and how to measure its effectiveness are the latest advances from the Tec Guadalajara Biomechatronics Lab. Today, the lab is ditching plaster casts and using CT scanning to make a 3D cast for a better socket. And thus provide the user with less physical wear, greater comfort and better weight distribution to avoid pressure and friction, but how do you know if this happens? Through the Prototype Development Program (Prodepro) convened by the Jalisco State Council of Science and Technology (Coecytjal) the project obtained support. It was a concurrent fund between Coecytjal and the Tec to pay for the measuring devices and continue with the tests of the developed prototype.
