Joel Huegel West has a PhD in mechanical engineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and a professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Guadalajara Campus. His time is divided between academia, research and entrepreneurship, areas in which he has developed different projects throughout his career. As a teacher, he teaches classes at the bachelor's and master's levels; On his research side, he is a level I member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) and has a couple of patents registered, while as an entrepreneur he works in a civil association to provide prostheses to people with limb amputations lower.
